Allow me to add that my School is currently in the process of ACBSP
accreditation and not only do their written criterion allow for J.D./terminal
degree status, but they go so far as to use a J.D. holder as an example of a
terminal degree professor in its suggested and required tables used in the
application process. Naturally this applies only in the Legal Environment and
Business Law areas.
I went through the tenure process last year and the J.D. as a terminal degree
issue is alive and kicking. (Thank you again Dan.)
Amazing how sometimes our students are more logical and accepting of cold
hard facts than our colleagues.
