Report of Midwest Academy of Legal Studies in Business
 
The Midwest met at the Palmer House in Chicago (as always) with the MBAA
(Midwest Business Administration Association) March 12-14, 1997.
 
Winners of the Irwin-sponsored Distinguished Paper Award were William J.
Walsh, David Marvin, Jack Fields all of Illinois Wesleyan University for
their paper entitled, "Arbitral Standards for Employee Discipline Under
No-Fault Attendance Control Policies".
 
Dana Muir, University of Michigan, was program chair for the meeting with 43
scheduled paper presentations, one Ethics/Law panel and one environmental
law round table discussion.
 
At the Friday business meeting, presided over by President George McNary of
Creighton University, Alan Roline, University of Minnesota-Duluth, was
elected secretary, Lynda Oswald, University of Michigan, program chair and
Dana Muir, University of Michigan, president.  Murray Levin, University of
Kansas was re-elected treasurer.
 
A most successful meeting with much lively discussion!
