Dan's comment is right on. Joan is a friendly person and a great hostess. Many of us in the field know her and respect her and I hope that Jordan makes sure she sees Dan's email.

the angry and impolitic reply to the banned flag e-mail. Jordan, being a
lawyer, would never rush to judgement as I did. Being devasted (as is
everyone) by the events of the past week, I was made even more uneasy and
angry by the spreading of divisive rumors (true or not) to such a large
group of people at a time when we should be looking at the big picture, and
how we can come together, not pick at truly small events. I was also
angered by the not so implicit attack on the ACLU brought in for no lawyerly
reason at all. So forgive me for implusiveness in distress, and I won't
read any more ALSB e-mails. (Thank goodness Jordan is retired or I might
have ruined his career.)
