Good morning everyone! My department (Speech Pathology &
Audiology-Bachelor Hall) needs your help. They are recruiting for a study
and actively seeking a more diverse subject population. It's a study
examining respiration. It only takes about 15 minutes. I did it on Friday
and there are some freebies at the end! PLEASE read the information below
and the attachment. Your help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Taniesha Avery

Hi Taniesha - This is the letter we sent out... the flyer is attached -
thanks so much for your help!
We are currently conduction a study in the Department of Speech
Pathology and Audiology to determine and compare the maximal breathing
function of healthy African Americans and Caucasian adults. The
majority of previous studies on maximal breathing function have only
reported on Caucasian subjects and we feel that a more diverse
representation of these measures is needed in the medical literature.
We are currently recruiting individuals ranging from 18-30 years of
age. Two
measures of breathing are obtained while the individual breathes in and
out of a mouthpiece. The approximate time required for participation is
10-15 minutes. Once completed, participants receive a free can of
soda/pop.
Please feel free to pass along this information to members of your
organization. We
have attached a flyer in word document form, which you may pass out to
your members or hang up in your suite.
We would look forward to any participation from your members. Please
feel free to contact us with any questions. If your organization would
like to know more about this
study, we would be glad to come and speak at your next meeting.
Thank you for your time,
Dr. Susan Baker
