There is a Critical Race Theory (CRT) class being offer through the
Educational Leadership Department EDL Summer IV. The class is 790R Race,
Ethnicity and Education and it is a TBA class so there is not set time. We
need at least one more person in this class for it to make.If you need a
great class to take this summer this will benefit you for life in any field
this is the class. Here's some brief information about CRT.
Critical race theory bridges the gap between sociological theory and legal
studies by investigating the link between race, jurisprudence, and power.
Understanding the social construction of race, the course will look at such
critical race theorists as Derrick Bell, Jari Matsuda, Richard Delgado,
Kimberle Williams Crenshaw, Gloria Ladson-Billings, and William Tate.
Classical treatments of race as found in the writings of Weber, Du Bois,
Locke will also be explored.
You can contact Dr. Denise Baszile @ [log in to unmask] if you need more
info about the class. Please put "CRT Summer IV" as the subject.
