Dear Alumni, Faculty, Staff, Affiliates, Students and Friends of IES, 
 
I’m happy to tell you about a Tree-Planting (a red oak) in memory and in honor of Dr. Gene Willeke next week on Tuesday, May 23 at 2:00 pm in the yard west of Shideler between Shideler and the Armstrong Student Center.  This planting was originally conceived by members of the IES class of 2008 who started a fund-raising campaign.  16 months after Gene’s death, we are finally doing the planting and installation of a memorial plaque. 
 
I hope you can join IES and Pat Willeke for a short ceremony and some refreshments.  Please come to the patio on the west side of Shideler Hall at 2:00 pm.
