Journalism students:

The Department of English is now taking applications for its annual awards
program. Journalism students are invited to enter the Greer/Hepburn
competition (for students who will be seniors in the fall) or the Montaine
competition (for juniors in the fall)

To apply you must submit five to 10 published clips and a cover essay about
your growth as a journalist.

Awards range from $640 (fourth place) to $4,000 (first place.)

Last year, a senior won a third-place award and a junior won a first-place.

To enter, pick up an application form in the English office or from one of
your professors. Deadline is 5 p.m., March 9, the Friday before spring
break.
