The Society of Professional Journalists offers two paid internships every
summer ­ one intern works in the organization¹s headquarters in
Indianapolis, and the other works in the offices of the Society¹s First
Amendment legal counsel in Washington, D.C. Interns research and write about
freedom of information issues and may assist with SPJ programs and
initiatives, the Society¹s Freedom of Information Committee and the First
Amendment legal counsel¹s annual Freedom of Information Report. These are
invaluable opportunities that will give you even more experience to add to
