Journalism majors,

The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars is holding two
seminars in January that you may be interested in.

Week one is "In Pursuit of the Presidency," Jan. 2-7
Week two is "Campaign Politics and the Media," Jan 9-14

There's an option this year to join the Millennium Celebration in
Washington, D.C. For an extra $100, you can check in on Dec. 29 or 30.

I participate every year in these seminars. They feature a large number of
famous speakers. The past two years, we've had Ted Koppel, Ann Compton,
Clarence Page, Donna Shalala, Brian Lamb, Mike McCurry, Marion Berry and a
host of other top political and media professionals.

The programs usually include visits to the Democratic and Republican
National Headquarters, the National Press Club, The White House, Congress,
Capitol Hill and various media outlets.

If you would like more information, the program brochures/applications are
in a manila envelope on my door at 336 Bachelor Hall. If you decide to
apply, I will need to sponsor your application. My e-mail is

Deadline for early registration (which is cheaper) is Nov. 1.

Journalism professor
