Hello there!
Just a note to say that Interactive Media Studies (IMS) has added a new
course that may be of interest to some of you (it will fulfill an analytical
requirement for the journalism program). It's called "Politics, Culture and
New Media," and it's being taught by Nick Gillespie, editor in chief of
reason.tv and reason.com. Guest speakers in Washington, D.C., including the
Slate's media critic, Jack Shafer, will participate via videoconference.
The class will meet once a week, and the first meeting is at 3 p.m. today in
9 Benton Hall (on the corner across from Roudebush). Ten spots remain open
in the class, and we've been told it won't be a problem if you miss the
first class meeting.
I'll attach a copy of the syllabus and reading list for next week.
Cheryl
