The deadline for the annual writing contest of the Ohio Newspaper Women's
Association is fast approaching. This professional association includes more
than 300 men and women members statewide.

The contest gives MONEY to the winners at its annual convention. This year's
convention is Nov. 6 in Findlay, Ohio, a couple of hours north of Dayton.

If you are a member, you have until Oct. 10, 1999, to get your entries
postmarked. For full information, go to the website at www.muohio.edu/onwa/
and go to CONTEST. At the bottom you will find the information for COLLEGE
ENTRY PREPARATION.

For those of you who are not members, I strongly encourage you to go to the
website and find out how to join. It's REALLY CHEAP ($15 annually) and it's
a great opportunity to network with journalists from all over Ohio.
