It's not too late for a summer internship.

The Oxford Press is looking for students to do for-credit internships in
reporting, feature writing, sports writing, and sometimes arts and
entertainment writing.

Internships for-credit are also possible at:

-- other area newspapers, dailies as well as weeklies.
-- Cincinnati and Dayton business newspapers
-- Cincinnati and Dayton entertainment publications.
-- area TV and radio stations.
-- Strategic Communication departments at varied institutions. For example,
we've had Strat Com interns at the Cincinnati Zoo.

These for-credit internships are not, however, limited to Oxford and the
Oxford area. They may be arranged anywhere, perhaps in your hometown.

Your internship experience may be general or specific. For example, in
internships at the Oxford Press or other weekly, you'll write varied news
and features. At a daily, you can be in a specialized department, such as
news, features, sports, or business news. We've even had interns in the
opinion section.

For-credit interns usually work a minimum of 10-12 hours a week, spread over
two or three days, for a minimum of six weeks.

Tuition, of course, is required, but Internships may be taken for as little
as one-hour credit. If you need hours, they may be taken for more credit.
The internships are not credit-no credit; a letter-grade is awarded. The
primary reward, of course, is journalism experience.

If you already have an internship and want to earn credit, or credit is
required, I'm happy to sponsor you in the internship as an independent
study.

I'm also happy to help you arrange a summer internship. There are many
possibilities. Email me and we'll set a time to discuss them.
