One hundred Miami students will be Undergraduate Summer Scholars in 2005.
You could be one of them!

Stop by the Summer Scholar Information Fair and Poster Session noon-1:30
p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 3) in the Shriver Center multipurpose room A to see
what the 2004 scholars did and to learn more.

Deadline for departments to receive applications is Dec. 3. If you don’t
have a research project on the back burner, it’s time to think one up and
enlist a faculty mentor to help you write a strong proposal.

This is a GREAT program, and it’s not restricted to scientists. Let's see
a journalist win one of these grants!

Here’s a quote from the Web site at
http://www.units.muohio.edu/oars/undergrad_research/summer_scholars_program/index.php:

“The Undergraduate Summer Scholars (USS) program is an initiative aimed at
heightening the intellectual challenge of the learning environment at
Miami University. Now in its 11th year, this program enables Miami
undergraduates to do research or other creative activities in the summer
under the supervision of faculty. Awards include a stipend for the
student, a student allowance for supplies and services, 12 credit hours
WITH ACADEMIC FEES WAIVED . . .”
(OK, I added the capitals!)

Go to that same Web site for more details and for application forms.
