Journalism students and faculty:
As many of you know, syndicated columnist Georgie Anne Geyer will present a
Lecture Series speech Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. in Hall Auditorium. Geyer is an
expert in Middle East politics with great knowledge of Afghanistan, Osama
bin Laden and the Taliban. This is a fabulous opportunity to learn more
about that part of the world from a very well-regarded journalist.
The Lecture Series Committee has extended a special invitation to our
department to send 10 students and/or faculty to a 4 p.m. seminar with
Geyer in the Bishop Hall Living Room. In addition, we are invited to send
five faculty and students to a dinner with her at 6 p.m.
Four of the dinner spots are taken at this point, but only one of the
seminar spots.
Please respond to this message ASAP if you would like to attend the seminar
or take the remaining dinner spot. First come, first serve, in a message to
me (not the entire listserv). If you attend either, come prepared to join
the dialogue.
Best,
Patti Newberry
