Journalism students:

Let's close out the year with a round of applause for Miami's great
journalism students and faculty.

A special congrats to:

*Cheryl Heckler-Feltz, a visiting faculty member for the past three years,
hired for a full-time, tenure-track position beginning in the fall.
* Junior Dana Johnson, who won second place in the Greer/Hepburn Senior
Prizes in English, for a selection of her journalism work.
* Junior Jacyln Giovis, named an inaugural Dean's Scholar to work with Judi
Hetrick in the coming year on a civic journalism project.

Now, how 'bout a little brag-a-thon. Who's got what journalism job --
full-time or internship -- come June? Do tell. Let's hear from graduating
seniors especially. Give a little hope to the ones who come behind you that
journalism studies and employment are not mutually exclusive pursuits.

Patti
