If you've got a knack for getting the right shot at a breaking news scene, the district championship basketball or finding the right feature shot at the right time, the Chillicothe Gazette has a photography opportunity that will interest you.

The Gazette is a seven-day Gannett newspaper, and part of the Newspaper Network of Central Ohio, located just an hour from Columbus. The Gazette has a two-person photo staff and is 100 percent digital. Equipment will be provided.

Daily assignments include sports, features and breaking news. Photographers are expected to generate their own story and project ideas as well as standalone photos. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded, experienced newspaper photographer with a can do attitude, a high degree of technical expertise and knowledge of digital photography, computers and Photoshop. Experience at a daily newspaper is preferred, but a dazzling portfolio will get pushed to the top of the list.

The newspaper is a launching pad for careers, as some of our former employees now work at USA Today, the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Associated Press and others.

Send resumes and portfolios (on a CD) to Robert Moorhead, Photo Editor, Chillicothe Gazette, P.O. Box 4400, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. Resumes received by Friday, June 11 will receive first consideration.
