Journalism students:

Be sure to take advantage of yet-another media celeb speaking in this year's
Lecture Series. If you have an interest in meeting with Pat Mitchell in a
smaller setting at 4 p.m. Monday, contact me ASAP by email tonight or
tomorrow before 8:30 a.m. for details.

Patti Newberry

Here's the text from the press release on Mitchell:

Pat Mitchell, president of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), will speak
on "Social Responsibility and Business" at 8 p.m. Monday, April 2, in Hall
Auditorium, as part of the Miami University Lecture Series.

The first producer to serve as head of PBS, Mitchell has had a long and
distinguished career in television. After starting in local broadcast
television, she worked as a correspondent and substitute anchor for NBC's
"Today" show. In 1983 she formed her own production company and developed
and hosted Woman to Woman, which won an Emmy award. She has since worked for
all three broadcast networks, as well as cable, in the roles of news
reporter, anchor, talk show host, producer and executive.

The event is free but tickets are required, as seating is limited. Tickets
will be available from the Hall Auditorium box office starting at 7 p.m. the
day of the event.
