Students:

If you're looking for a capstone in television news, COM/JRN 415 will be
offered this spring. The class focuses on the production of a weekly
newscast for Miami University Television, and students rotate through all
roles including anchor, field reporter, and producer. Students will also
gain experience in using the new professional TV newsroom software that has
been recently installed in Williams Hall.

This four-credit class meets on Monday and Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 to plan
the newscast. On Fridays from 9:30-11:50 we produce the show.

The normal prerequisites for the class are JRN 202 and JRN/COM 314 and COM
211. However, if you have gained television news and video production
experience through internships or other avenues, I would consider waving the
prerequisites.

If you have any questions about COM/JRN 415 please feel free to contact me.
