Do you have published work?

While on your few days of break, it's the perfect time to gather all your published work from 2009 and organize them for the Mark of Excellence Awards!

Annually, the Society of Professional Journalists presents the Mark of
Excellence Awards honoring the best in student journalism. The awards offer
39 categories for print, radio, television and online collegiate journalism.
Entries are first judged on the regional level, with winners moving on to
the national competition.

DEADLINE: Jan 27, 2010

REQUIREMENTS: You must be enrolled in a college or university and the work
has to have been published or broadcast in 2009.

ENTRY FEES: It costs $9 per entry for current SPJ members and $18 for
nonmembers.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: However, MU-SPJ is offering you a deal! SPJ will
cover $3 of the fee if you turn your entries in to Patricia Gallagher
Newberry (c/o JRN office, Bachelor Hall 260) with cash or checks made out to
MU-SPJ before 4pm December 11.
