Students spend one month (July 16-August 16, 2009) studying digital storytelling, photography, video and Web design and produce an online multimedia documentary about the local community (see http://www.InArmagh.net<http://www.inarmagh.net/>). This year, blogging and podcasting will be added to the program.

Interested students should request an application by sending name, address, phone number, college affiliation, and expected graduation date to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

About Armagh
Situated on the Irish Republic's border, Armagh is a city rich in culture and history. It was here that St. Patrick reportedly built the first stone church in 445 and two cathedrals in his name still tower over the city. With 15,000 residents, Armagh has a wide range of attractions: museums, national parks, historic castles and houses, a modern theater, a university, a planetarium, a digital film archive, hotels and B&B's, numerous restaurants and pubs. Activities include golf, fishing, bicycling, and hiking. It's one hour from Belfast, two from Dublin, and three from Galway.
About the program
IeiMedia has been taking students abroad every summer since 2001. The program welcomes students from all universities and disciplines. It is open to beginning and advanced students interested in learning multimedia skills. All equipment -- computers, digital cameras and videocameras – is provided (although students are encouraged to bring their own as well).

Students work in teams to create multimedia stories, learning from each other as well as the professional faculty.

Highlights of the program:

 * Earn six undergraduate credits through a university to be announced or apply for internship credit at your home university.
 * OR earn six graduate credits in communications at Gonzaga University (http://www.gonzaga.edu/coml) <http://www.gonzaga.edu/coml>
 *   Non-credit options also available
 * Study with experienced faculty plus top media professionals
 * Live in a modern, well-equipped hostel with private baths
 * Combine hands-on professional experience with academic learning
