The Miami Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists
elected its new officers for the 1999-00 academic year, Monday night.
Elected to lead the chapter was senior Nicole Scholz, this year's
vice president. Vice president for next year will be Heidi Neinberg, who
currently serves as secretary-treasurer.
Newcomer sophomore Jacqueline Farinella will be the new
secretary-treasurer and junior Amanda Bright will serve as programming
chair. Sophomore Michael McNeese will be the new membership chair.
Positions are still open for chairs of diversity, ethics, project
watchdog and First Amendment. Those are appointed positions by Nicole.
The next meeting will be Monday, April 22 at 6 p.m. in the Bachelor
Reading Room. It will be the year-end pizza party. Anyone interested in
becoming a member should attend. Old members who haven't come in awhile,
should stop in to say goodby to the MU journalism program.
