The English Department is now accepting entries for its annual student
writing awards, with a deadline of March 8. Note that the Greer-Hepburn
Awards (for students with senior standing) and the Montaine Awards (for
students with junior standing) both include a journalism category.

Winners include very generous scholarships -- first-places come with $4,650
and $2,830 respectively -- along with recognition at an end-of-semester
English Department event and a nice line on a resume.

The attached document provides details. If you cannot open it, visit the
English office, Bachelor 356, for a form.

Watch this space for more information -- soon -- on applying for the third
annual Rogers Scholarship and competing in the third annual Miami Chapter of
SPJ writing competition.

Patti
