To: Copy editors, newsroom supervisors, educators, students and others
From: The Ohio chapter of the American Copy Editors Society
Subject: Join us for the ACES/Ohio editing workshop Nov. 7

Plan now to attend the 2004 ACES/Ohio copy-editing workshop Sunday, Nov.
7, at the Miami University regional campus in Hamilton, between
Cincinnati and Dayton.

The workshop will be the first in southern Ohio and fifth overall for
the Ohio chapter of the nonprofit American Copy Editors Society. More
than 400 copy editors, supervisors, students and other journalists from
newspapers and other publications large and small in Ohio and nearby
states have attended the annual workshops since they began in 2000,
including 140 last year.

Sessions will be in Miami-Hamilton's beautiful, spacious Wilks
Conference Center, a 15-minute drive west of I-75 or north of I-275. The
center, built in 1997, has acres of free parking and can comfortably
accommodate 200 guests.

A catered lunch (sandwiches and sides), beverages and workshop materials
are included in the registration fee -- $10 for ACES members, SND
members and students; $25 for nonmembers. You can join ACES when
registering and receive the member rate. Companies will receive one free
registration for every 10 paid registrations.

The workshop will be on the first Sunday after the election. It's a
chance to reinvigorate yourself with a full day of fast-paced, lively,
interactive learning led by some of the top trainers in the profession.
They'll help you sharpen your skills and return to your newsroom with
practical advice to share with colleagues.

The lineup of speakers will be the workshop's biggest yet, and breakout
sessions have been expanded to give you more choices of topics to fit
your training needs.

The schedule (times and speakers subject to change):

Check-in in the Wilks Center lobby. No walk-in registrations.
