The Cincinnati chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists
invites you to attend the Region Four SPJ Conference in Cincinnati on
April 7-8.

Highlights include:
* a keynote speech by John Lansing, executive VP of Scripps Networks
(HGTV, DIY Network, Fine Living, etc.), Friday, April 7, at 6:15 p.m.
at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
* a keynote speech by Joe Treaster, lead Katrina reporter for the New
York Times, Saturday, April 8, noon.
* sessions on beat reporting, FOI issues, freelancing, covering
Hispanic populations, and more.
* Mark of Excellence awards. (Three Miami students, along with The
Student, are winners!)

Student cost of $40 covers the Friday night reception, Saturday
continental breakfast and Saturday lunch. A room at the conference
site, The Millennium Hotel, runs $99/night (no matter how many students
cram into a room) through Wednesday of this week.

Check out all the details -- and register by the March 31 deadline --
at www.spjregionfour.org.

Hope to see many of you in Cincinnati for this terrific learning and
networking opportunity.
