Subject: Cincinnati Magazine - editorial web internship

Hello,

Cincinnati Magazine will launch its revamped web site this fall and I'm
looking for an additional intern for the web. The duties are similar to the
regular editorial internships (fact checking, research, some writing), but
it will be done for our web site only. If you could please forward this
email to students who might be interested, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Aiesha

CINCINNATI MAGAZINE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (WEB)

The primary areas of responsibility during the four-month web internships
are:

1) Assisting editors in fact-checking, proofreading, and research projects
for the web. As with the print version of the magazine, every story that
appears on the web site is checked for accuracy.

2) Helping to maintain/update online calendar listings. This task includes
removing old calendar items, writing/compiling new blurbs, and making
editors aware of any mistakes in the listings.

3) Researching, compiling, and writing web content. You will be expected to
help out on the research and content. We guarantee that interns will get one
clip for their portfolios,
but additional opportunities to write for publication depends on the
initiative students show on non-writing assignments.

4) Staff participation/interaction. Part of successfully completing an
internship with us means that you have attempted to become a part of our
staff. We expect interns to be proactive in asking questions, providing
editorial input when requested, and seeking out the answers they need.

5) Analyzing Cincinnati Magazine's web site and constructing creative ideas
for possible new segments.

**NOTE: This is not a full-scale writing internship, however, the
responsibilities interns have at our magazine are very similar to tasks that
many would take on in entry-level magazine jobs.

Our internships are unpaid and we require a minimum of 15 hours per week in
the office (times and days vary depending on class/work schedules). If you
are interested, please e-mail your resume, cover letter, and published
clips/writing samples to [log in to unmask] or mail them to:
