Miami SPJ members:
        The national convention is in Indianapolis this year, Oct. 3-5, and
we are trying to get a group to attend the event, at least for a couple
days.
        The national convention is always a great time and a prime
opportunity to meet other journalism students, or better yet, wave resumes
in front of professionals.
         The cost of the programs, which are always of great benefit to
students and professional alike, is $140. That does not include meals. The
complete package is $225. At the very least, you should attend the opening
night reception at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The opening reception
is one of the best parts of the weekend and a great chance to meet people.
Cost is $30.
        If you are interested, you need to contact Nicole Scholz, SPJ Miami
president, to make arrangements for transportation. This SPJ chapter will
pay $70, or half of your registration fee if you decide to attend at least
two days. Hotels are $105 single; $115 double, if rooms are still available.
