PART-TIME COPY EDITOR AT DAYTON DAILY NEWS

The Neighbors section production team needs an experienced part-time copy
editor to work on the weekly zoned sections.

Duties will mainly be copy editing staff and free-lance stories, writing
headlines and cutlines, proofreading and some design of Neighbors pages.

The weekly work schedule would normally be a maximum of 30 hours, initially
spread throughout Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Qualified candidates should have a strong command of English, grammar,
newspaper style and computer skills (particularly Macintosh).

Applicants with a minimum of 1 year of daily newspaper experience as a copy
eidtor will be given preference.

Knowledge of Miami Valley communities and an appreciation for local news are
preferred. Prior experience with the DTI pagination system would be helpful
but not required.
