Journalism students and alum:
A reminder that the SPJ national convention starts Sunday, Oct. 3,
in Indianapolis. The opening reception is at the famous Brickyards of the
Indy Speedway. The convention runs until Tuesday night, Oct. 5. Information
is on SPJ website www.spj.org
You can attend for $225 or $140 if you just want the seminars and
not the dinners. Opening reception is $30 or included if you take the $225
package.
The convention is being held at the Westin downtown and there are
still a handful or rooms available at $105 per night/single and $115/double
and $135/triple or quad.
This is always a great experience. If I had to hand out advice to
journalism students, it would be that you shouldn't go four years as a
student without attending an SPJ convention. Think of it as an investment
in your future.
Currently, there are three-four of us attending. If interested
contact me or Nicole Scholz, chapter president, [log in to unmask]
