Journalism majors:
I am looking for one or two students to assist with a project in which we
will be working with journalists around the world. This is an opportunity
to help with web pages and a blog that will enable an ongoing conversation
among those journalists on creative and innovative ways that they are
engaging the public and fostering conversation about important issues in
their communities.

Most of the journalists involved are in new and emerging democracies in
Europe, Africa and South America. Interested journalists from the US also
will be contributors.

On the web pages, we will post examples of their innovative work and
experiments. We'll provide places for them to discuss the examples and the
practical and ethical questions highlighted by those examples. And we will
be writing about lessons learned.

Students will also help with the design and construction of the web pages.
Students can earn 2 hours of independent study JRN credits for assisting in
this project. I need the help beginning in October and the credits can be
granted either for fall 2008 or spring 2009.

Please contact me if you are interested.
