I would love to carpool with any students (or faculty!) interested in
attending ACES this year. Please respond to [log in to unmask] if you're
interested in driving to Cleveland with me.

From: The Ohio chapter of the American Copy Editors Society
Subject: 2005 ACES/Ohio editing workshop

There's still time to sign up for the sixth annual ACES/Ohio copy-editing
workshop Sunday, Oct. 16, at The Plain Dealer in Cleveland.

Registrations must be received by Oct. 10, and seating is limited to 120.
(If we exceed the limit, refunds will be made promptly.)

Visit http://www.ohioaces.org for a workshop registration form and the
complete schedule, session descriptions, speaker bios, driving directions
and other details.

The lineup of speakers will be the workshop's biggest yet and features
some of the top trainers in the profession. You'll sharpen your skills and
return to your newsroom with practical advice to share with colleagues.
Many of the speakers are on the American Copy Editors Society's national
board, which will be in town to plan for the 2006 national conference.

A box lunch (sandwiches and sides), breakfast items and beverages are
included in the registration fee, along with workshop materials and an
ACES training CD. Fees are:

-- $10 for students and professionals who are members of ACES or SND --
$15 for student nonmembers
-- $25 for professional nonmembers

You can join ACES when registering and receive the member rate. Companies
will receive one free registration for every 10 paid registrations.

Workshop registrants will receive a discount on registration for the April
20-22, 2006, national conference in Cleveland.

ACES/Ohio is a chapter of the not-for-profit American Copy Editors Society
( http://www.copydesk.org ). More than 500 copy editors, supervisors,
students and other journalists from newspapers and other publications
large and small in Ohio and nearby states have attended the annual
workshops since they began in 2000.
