INTERNSHIP AND CAREER EXPO TO BRING 125 EMPLOYERS TO MIAMI

OXFORD, Ohio - More than 125 employers are
scheduled to meet with an expected 1,000 Miami
University students seeking an internship or
full-time job at a Spring Internship and Career
Expo (Spring ICE) 1:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb.
23, at Millett Hall.
Usually held in March, this year's expo was
scheduled in February to accommodate more
employers. Attending students get the chance to
distribute résumés and speak with employer
representatives from business and industry, as
well as selected government and public service
agencies. Organizations participate in the expo
to identify talented prospects to invite for
interviews.
"Employers constantly tell us that they like to
see internship and other types of experiential
learning highlighted on the résumés of our
graduates," says Richard Hearin, Miami's director
of career services. "We encourage students to
view internships as highly beneficial, not only
in terms of increasing their competitiveness in
the job-search process, but also enriching the
quality of their total educational experience."
Employers confirmed to appear include the Hershey
Co., Total Quality Logistics, Cincinnati
Children's Hospital and the Peace Corps.
Hearin recommends that students who have
never been to a job fair attend the Spring ICE
training session, 5-5:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in
the Shriver Heritage Room. For more information,
