If you're interested in gaining good experience at redesigning and updating a Miami website, and lending a hand in producing a short promotional video, please get in touch with me right away. We'll work out a 1- or 2-credit independent study for this semester.

We are producing these items to inform students who might be interested in the Miami study abroad program in Kosovo this summer, which is a joint offering by the Journalism, Mass Communication and International Studies departments. Our recruiting is in high gear for this program and we need to complete a 6-8 minute video in a matter of a few days. We'll assemble the video from edited interview footage, and a folder full of photos that's ready to go (with music). So if you have experience with I-movie or similar programs, that would help.

But the website also needs prompt attention. All the elements exist, but the old site needs to get an overhaul and converted from an older software to a current one (for use on WordPress and GoDaddy.)

This is also a good chance to get practical experience on everyday tasks done by public information officers, media relations specialists and marketers. So you'll get to develop and work on effective ways to reach target readerships and viewerships. Spreading the word about all the benefits and changes in the Kosovo program is an interesting communications challenge, because so many people have misconceptions about life in that new nation, which is actually a place full of the energy and the enthusiasm of a young population (did you know half the folks there are 25 or younger?)

If you are interested, please get in touch with me asap.
