Would you please bring this notice to the attention of anyone who might be
interested in the following position.  We, at Ohio State, are especially
eager to attract a wide pool of applicants.
 
THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY
COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
 
 
POSITION:     Assistant Professor
Mathematics , Science, and Technology
Education/Integrated Teaching and Learning Education
School of Teaching and Learning
 
APPOINTMENT:     Tenure Track Appointment.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:     Teach graduate courses and advise graduate students in
post-degree M.Ed. programs, preparing teachers for K-12 classrooms,
integrated MA and Ph.D. programs.  Contribute significantly to the
operation of field-based teacher preparation programs for both elementary
and secondary school settings.  Participate in a substantive program of
research and scholarship.  Engage in service and governance activities
both within and outside the university.  Opportunity to collaborate with
existing Centers such as Eisenhower and ERIC which provide services to
K-12 teachers.  The faculty member will be expected to provide course support
for graduate students pursuing licensure in early childhood, middle
childhood and secondary education.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:     An earned doctorate in the field of science or
mathematics education.  Minimum of three years public school teaching
experience or its equivalent.  School based experiences (K-12) preferred.
Research/scholarly focus in areas related to science, math and/or
technology education.  Experience/interest with urban settings and
culturally diverse populations is desired.  Strong collaborative skills
and knowledge of interdisciplinary teaching and research are preferred.
Interest and expertise in the role and use to advance research and
teaching with technologies.
 
STARTING SALARY:     Commensurate with experience.
 
POSITION AVAILABLE:     October 1, 1998.
