I had the same problem. My solution? A DCL that copies my NEWSRC file to a
backup. When news blows up, I just copy the backup over the real one. I then
get right back in... hasn't failed me yet. DOn't know why it works, since
nothing should be modifying my newsrc file when I'm not logged in.
