Miami's normal connectivity to OARnet (and through OARnet to the rest of
the Internet) is via a T1 to OARnet's Point-of-Presence (POP) in Cincinnati,
with a backup 56K direct line to Columbus.  From last Friday through this
morning, the T1 connection experienced problems, and during some of that
time, all Miami connectivity to points outside Miami had to traverse the
single 56K line, resulting in general unpleasantness for all users
concerned.
 
MCIS regrets any inconveniences suffered during this time.
