                      GANDALF Communication Problem

MCIS would like to thank you for your cooperation in helping us diagnose
our communications problems that are causing users to be dropped from the
systems.

We are still investigating the problem and attempting to eliminate possible
causes.

We encourage users to continue notifying us of dropped connections even if
you've already reported one already. Please notify us everytime you are
dropped. This will help us in our investigation.

If your connection is dropped, you can notify us via the MCIS Help Desk at
529-7900 or via e-mail at [log in to unmask] The information that is
most useful to us is:
  1) Your name and userid
  2) How we may contact you if needed (phone number, e-mail address, etc)
  3) The time that you were dropped
  4) The class name that you entered at the "enter class" prompt (i.e. V1,
        MIAVX1, PHOENIX, etc.)
  5) How you were connected to the system (modem, terminal in lab, PC/Mac in
        lab, etc).

Again, MCIS would like to thank you for your cooperation and patience in
this matter.
