The MCIS Technical Services staff plans to make the VM/CMS system
unavailable from 8am-10am on Saturday, Dec. 17, for an operating system
upgrade and to remove version 5.18 SAS System software.  This Saturday
falls between the last day of finals/fall commencement & the Monday
final grades are due. While the system is unavailable, the following
VM services will also be unavailable:
 
    1)  access to Miami Root
    2)  access to the administrative mainframe via 'dial VTAM'
    3)  mail forwarding from VM userids to other addresses
 
Technical Services staff consider the upgrade to be equivalent to a
maintenance application and expect no visible change in client interfaces.
