On Thursday the 20th and again on Friday the 21st the Gandalf terminal
server HAL crashed.  On Friday HAL was sans 16 subscribers, but thought
that 3 of them were available.  I have no idea how that would come to pass.
 
I reset the subscriber card and the subscribers came back up.
The Gandalf will get serviced early in the summer.  I believe that
the terminal drops and connects followed by garbage are caused by
the HAL crashes.
 
I will check the switch frequently through finals week in an attempt
to minimize outages.
