Welcome to Miami's Modems, a new forum for discussion and dissemination
of information regarding modem connectivity to resources on the Miami
University campuses in Oxford, Middletown and Hamilton. This forum is
accessible as both a NetNews newsgroup (mu.modems) and a LISTSERV list
(MUModems) for those who prefer to receive this information directly as
e-mail.

Of late, much of the traffic on mu.unix / MU-UNIX, mu.vax-vms / MU-VMS
and mu.vmcms / MU-VM has centered on data communications discussions
involving modem connectivity issues that are not platform specific to
UNIX, VM or VMS. Hence, it was determined there might be a need for
this forum. We hope discussion of modem-related issues (hardware and
where applicable software) will move from the platform specific groups
/ lists to this forum.

If you have specific modem-related problems, please call or e-mail the
MCIS Help Desk at x7900 or HelpDesk@MiamiU or MiaVX1.
