The University will be closed beginning Friday, December 24th until
Monday, January 3, 1994.
 
The IBM in Hoyt and the VAX in Kreger will remain operational, but
unattended during this time.  This means there will not be an operator
present to mount tapes, answer the phone, answer questions, or assist in
solving problems.
 
Before leaving on December 23rd, the operators will do a complete backup
on both the VAX and the IBM.  No further backups will be taken until
Wednesday, December 29th on the IBM, and on January 2nd on the VAX.
If you plan on working December 24-29th, there will be no backups created.
Therefore, if you create, change or modify anything during that time, we
will not be able to assist you with a recovery.
 
If you have questions or problems during this time, please call the MCIS Help
Desk at 529-7900.  When you hear the voice mail recording, please leave your
name and phone number along with a detailed message, and someone will get back
with you as soon as possible.  This number will be monitored daily.
