See my posting to mu.newgroups dated 28 Apr 1994 for a listing of standard
retention periods for various NetNews hierarchies carried at Miami.

If you use the register command to add a newsgroup to your newsrc file, and
the newsgroup doesn't appear, it probably means Miami doesn't carry it.
