For starters, this (mu.modems) is the wrong group to be talking about
IRC or other "programs" that are unrelated to this topic (modems).
By posting to a relevant group, you will get better response to your
problems (not to mention toning down a little bit).
I only have two other public comments to make about this (as they
pertain to others, too):
1) If there's a problem with something, *REPORT IT*. Broken items
don't fix themselves, and the people who support/maintain them
are not psychic, therefore cannot fix things they don't know
about.
2) Think about what you are posting before you post it. These
groups are read by a LOT of people, including your peers.
On a final note, IRC is not supported on *ANY* machine by the
University faculty/staff. The only officially supported IRC client
at Miami is the one found in the MCUG Utility Library on MiaVX1, in
which case you should have emailed myself or [log in to unmask]
(as that address is me, too).
