 Last year I remember i deleted a few hundred newsgroups from my NEWSRC file
that I had no intention of ever reading, which greatly sped up the time it took
for news to load up.  I tried this again yesterday, but the next time I went
into news, it added all the deleted groups back into my NEWSRC file as "New
newsgroup, not registered" (or something like that).  Is there any way to
prevent this?
