        With the increasing cost of supporting centralized campus servers
(primarily the IBM 480), MCIS recently underwent an internal evaluation of
services provided, specifically the phaseout of the VM/CMS machine, and
the migration of services to UNIX hosts and desktop computers.  As far as
I know the only documentation of this evaluation is MCIS internal, and has
not been made widely available.  This topic was discussed at the
University Senate CCIS meeting on April 22.  For minutes of the meeting
you should probably talk to the chair Gene Willeke (willekge), or to Kris
Froehlke (KFROEHLK@miamiu) who introduced the topic.
