Well, maybe, but our majors get all sorts of jobs; I think it's not inappropriate that we mentor them as they prepare for them (unless we want to separate "creative" writing entirely from any hope of utility -- in which case we should send all our majors to Professional Writing right now!).

I have to say that this does look to me very much like a Technical Writing and or Professional Writing internship.

When I talked with her, I found out that she will be working with someone at the Community Arts Center to create marketing materials. Because she would be working as an editor, I suggested that she speak with Katherine (Durack)--who is teaching an editing course in the spring. I did not even think about her major.

If you are interested in working with her, you can contact her directly at the email below. If not, you could let me know of your interest since I told Sara that I would help her find a sponsor.

He sent me to talk with Jean Lutz about possible faculty members who may be interested in being my internship sponsor, and she gave me your name. If you are unable to do so, I understand, but if you would be interested in sponsoring, please let me know. I would love to meet with you and discuss all the information I have about my internship, but here are the basics:

From my discussions with my boss-to-be (Caroline Croswell), I understand that I will be doing some editing work (press releases, advertisements, ect.), possibly creating a marketing/advertising proposal for the upcoming year, and doing basic office work.
