Dear cris,
I haven't promised her anything in particular, but guess $200-250 as a professional minimum. I'll be including her book in my 651 syllabus next semester. And didn't bother inviting Henri Cole, at OSU, who's also on it: too expensive. Or Jim Cummins, who's already read here in the past...
I did mention Deulen last year after she was hired at UC, and we put it off till this year. I think she was discussed and part of this year's funding previously determined at a meeting last spring. I was aiming for February, but she's not free then: 10-12 other readings that month, it seems.
Norman F., again?! He's read here at least 3 times, hasn't he? I'm not complaining, I like Norman, and he's so near, but is this another full-fledged reading I don't remember hearing about before? The spring seems to be always full of late additions while our money's running out. It's almost predictable. I can foresee a time when our funding will be cut, so the top MU salaries can be raised a bit more.

Hi David,
in some ways i wish i knew much more about how our money is dwindling but i've been, somewhat deliberately, playing coy with Rachel. I'm not sure what you've offered / promised Danielle? You can b/c me to that effect if that feels less like prying on my part.
I think we'll be okay . but we're closer to the knuckle than i'd like on the poetry side . . especially if we bring Norman Finkelstein into the mix. It's a pity we could not get Susana and Danielle into the same slot in retrospect.

Hi David, I haven't checked the Humanities calendar but I see no
conflicts otherwise. Not sure status of funding but cris will know.

Dear Friends,
Following up an earlier response to Eric's email, I'm proposing a DD reading on Weds Jan 30 or Th Jan 31, a week after Orner's if that's ok. I think we had that funded? No extra expenses necessary, except maybe a meal?
