Hi everybody,
I'm prepared to try to run with Keith's suggestion and suggest a table. Heidi McKee and whomever is taking over for Lit now that Cindy has been whisked off into the Honors Program are meeting next Monday to talk about possible shared strategies and development (it IS that vague).
I certainly think that we might be able to pull something off as CW and might be better off doing that?
The evernt is on September 19th and i would need to respond to Chris Makaroff right away. That would be my big concern . . do we / i have time to pull something snazzy and pertinent together?
Is anybody else interested? OR feed me stuff and i'll take your thoughts on board in doing it.

I wonder if CW might propose a table for this to be shared by representatives of CW and Lit. The PW folks are already in, as you'll see. It might be too early for CW to have the right discourse ready, but if something could be cobbled together it could be a learning experience just to talk with the recruiters to see how widely the skills and knowledge associated with the CW and Lit can be cast these days. You'd have to run the idea through Lou/Jerry at the retreat. Note the deadline.

Colleagues,
As discussed at the retreat, Career Services is working hard to help CAS students. You recently got flyers advertising the career fair and support services offered through Career Services for our students. Please make sure that the flyers get posted and encourage your faculty to make their students aware of these opportunities. Now is the time for seniors to start thinking about life after Miami.
We have been invited to have faculty attend the Career fair over the lunch hour when the recruiters. At this time AIMS, Professional Writing, IES, the Usability Center, and the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute are planning to have a table at lunch time (11:30 to 1:30) to interact with the recruiters. If you would like to have your department represented to showcase your majors, please let me know by tomorrow morning. The expectation is that you would send faculty to talk about your major and the marketability of your majors.
