Dear Group,

        I'd like to invite Mark Winegardner, Miami graduate, 1983, and author of
VERACRUZ BLUES to read at Miami next fall.  The date, I believe, would be
October 27th.  He was referred to me by several mutual friends.  While I'd
been thinking of inviting him, he called me today to say that he'd be
offered a reading at Wabash College in Indiana, so we could have him on
campus without having to fly him up from Florida State, I believe it is,
where he is director of the creative writing program.  Unless anyone has a
tremendous objection, I'd like to do this, which would make next fall a
parade of Miami authors.
