The entire Digital OpenVMS cluster in Oxford (MiaVX1, and components
Ocean, Sea and Stream) will be unavailable Sunday morning, 5 October
1997, from approximately 8 am until approximately 12 noon for a system
maintenance upgrade.
 
This upgrade will consist of:
 
*     Additional disk space for PO student spaceon STREAM
*     Additional CPU for SEA
*     Additional disk space for WWW usage
*     Software upgrade on the Storage Works disk controller
 
 
The following network services will be unavailable for the duration of
the outage:
 
   *  Batch processes, including Gaus
 
   *  Directory (PHonebook)
 
      a/k/a ph.muohio.edu
 
      Including searching, and incoming mail redirection to
[log in to unmask] addresses -- mail will be spooled for later
delivery, not lost or returned to sender.
 
  *  Electronic mail via POP / IMAP
 
     a/k/a po.muohio.edu
 
     Incoming e-mail will be spooled for later delivery
 
  *  HelpDesk Target software
 
  *  NetNews
 
     a/k/a nntp.muohio.edu
 
     All newsgroup reading and posting access
 
  *  World Wide Web
 
 
      a/k/a www.muohio.edu
 
      All central World Wide Web services
