The Miami UNIX Collective's new file server is online. And we
have begun the process of mirroring software. So far, the system is only
distributing files via anonymous ftp (running ncftpd), and NFS (linux
distributions only). HTTP, Appletalk, and Netware support is on the way.
Curently mirrored sites include:
tsx-11.mit.edu:/pub/linux
mir: ftp.muc.muohio.edu:/pub/linux/tsx-11
sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux
mir: ftp.muc.muohio.edu:/pub/linux/sunsite
ftp.cs.helsinki.fi:/pub/Software/Linux/Kernel
mir: ftp.muc.muohio.edu:/pub/linux/kernel
prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu
mir: ftp.muc.muohio.edu:/pub/gnu
ftp.netscape.com:/pub/navigator
mir: ftp.muc.muohio.edu:/pub/netscape/navigator
ftp.cdrom.com:/pub/linux/slackwar
mir: ftp.muc.muohio.edu:/pub/linux/slackwar
nfs: 134.53.25.175:/slackinst
We will be adding aditional PC, MAC, and E-Text files when we
attach our external disk array. Proposed mirrors for software are
currently SimTel for PC and InfoMAC for Macintosh. We are always willing
to consider requests of sites, or software packages to mirror.
